Report: Jett Travolta’s autopsy results may not be released

Now comes word via TMZ that Jett Travolta’s autopsy results will probably not be released by the Travolta family.

According to the Bahamian Minister of Health, Dr. Hubert Minnis, Anna Nicole Smith’s former obstetrician (anyone hearing alarms going off?) has decided to use a second specialist to guarantee a good assessment of what might have caused Jett’s death. (BTW, Anna Nicole Smith and her son Daniel both died on the island and are buried there.)

As far as Jett’s autopsy being released to the public, it’s totally up to the family. They are the only ones with the authority to release the results.

Of course, speculation is running rampant in the blogosphere over the sad, sad news of Jett’s untimely death. I spoke off the record with a Hollywood industry insider who has known John Travolta for more than a decade. She told me that John’s son Jett weighed about 250 pounds and stood around 6 feet 2 inches tall.

So, my question: Wouldn’t a fall by a person of this size be loud enough to hear inside the house instantly? (Even if the other people - nannies, etc - were sleeping.)

Also, this Travolta friend I spoke with has never ever heard John use the the word “Kawasaki” to describe Jett’s condition.

Throughout the continent, entrepreneurs by the scores have taken over failing hotels and converted double rooms into mini dorms, supplying overnight lodgings that are rented to people of all ages for as little as $20 a night. Or, they convert industrial buildings into lodgings. A host of new Web sites — Hostelbookers.com, Hostelworld.com, Hostels.com, Europeanhostels.com, Hostelz.com, Hostels.net and many others — list and describe hundreds of these structures all over Europe.

Recently, a reader’s letter confirmed the appeal that these European hostels have for people who are no longer considered “youths”: “I’m nearing retirement age,” she wrote, “and my retirement investments have lost a bundle. So, am I planning a European trip for next year? Sure, because I have frequent-flyer miles that I want to cash in…. I’ll be staying in hostels and other low-cost accommodations.”

Top Ten Box-Office Hits Of 2008

The end of the year is nigh, and with it comes every movie blogger and reviewers list of their favorite films of 2008. But really, at the end of the day, while critical acclaim is nice, a movie’s success can only really be based on whether it made any money or not, and if it did, how much.

Dark Horizons lists the top ten box-office hits both stateside and worldwide. Both lists show the usual suspects we’d all expected to be there, and both lists match up pretty well. However, there are some interesting diversities and number-crunching matters going on under the surface.

The Dark Knight was always going to top a list of earners, and it does so twice over. This shows how huge Batman and comic book heroes in general are around the world. Indiana Jones also did spectacularly well despite not exactly a fan favorite. I must admit I really liked the spectacle, and if you go back and watch the original trilogy you’ll realize they actually aren’t all that great.

It’s interesting to note that both Mamma Mia and Quantum of Solace did much better outside of the States than in it. While films such as Iron Man and Hancock truly have universal appeal. It may be wrong to look at films in terms of money but that is what pays the studios bills and ensures new releases every year after all.

If you look at the history of Nintendo, you will know that themselves and third parties have long been involved in coming out with an entire host of controllers for a game console. So much that it can be confusing to some. I mean, look at ROB the robotic operating buddy (click ROB for a pic of the bad boy of NES) that came with the original NES. When’s that dude gonna show up as a Wii controller? So, let’s list what you need for the Wii.

Differenty Wii Remote Controller Types

The Wii Remote, the Wii classic controller, the Wii Nunchuk, Wii Steering wheel, Wii fantasy set, Wii sports set, Wii Zapper or Light Gun, and the Wii Guitar, I may have missed one or two.

So let’s clear the water hear, what are the basics. For example do you need the Wii sports set to play sports games on Wii? No. Do you need the Wii fantasy game attachments, like a sheild and sword to play games like Zelda on Wii,,, uh,, no. Basically, to play almost all Wii games what you need is the Wii Remote, the Classic Controller, and the Nunchuk is also nice to have.

So what’s all this other stuff. Well, basically attachments or controllers with specific shapes like that of a tennis raquet or golf club and just dressed up Wii Remotes. They do the same thing the Wii Remote does, they’re just shaped differently to help people really get into the game. I mean, I’ve played golf on the Wii with the stock Wii Remote, but only when I put the Wii Golf Club in my hand could I feel the cool breeze of the course, the birds chirping in my ear, and my caddy text messaging his girlfriend in my backswing. Same goes with the other attachments, like a sword attachment for example,, who wants to sleigh a dragon without a sword attachment?

Other Wiimote Types

Other remotes are more specific to the game and thier fuction a little more obvious. Hmm, I wonder what games I’d want the steering wheel for? Hmm, I wonder if I can play tennis with the Wii Guitar? Some things are obvious some aren’t, one things for certain though, all you need is your Wii Remote, The Classic Controller (think of your Playstation controller), and a Nunchuk and you’re pretty much good to go on most every Wii offering.
